Queiroz appointed Ghana head coach
Carlos Queiroz has been appointed as the new head coach of the Ghana national team.
The 73-year-old will lead the Black Stars into their fifth World Cup campaign this summer.
Ghana face Panama, England and Croatia at this summer's tournament.
Queiroz has been out of work since March 22, when he stepped down from his role as Oman head coach.
He has previously managed six other nations: Portugal, South Africa, Iran, Colombia, Egypt and Qatar.
Chelsea's owners record more than 1bn losses over two years
Chelseas owners have recorded more than 1billion in losses over two years, according to their accounts.
Listings from BlueCo 22 Ltd released today by Companies House reveal net losses of 619m in the year until June 2025, on top of 402.6m the previous year.
Although the losses do not have direct implications for Chelseas PSR constraints, the significant sum will raise questions about BlueCo 22 Ltd's spending on its three main ventures: Chelsea FC (CFC), Chelsea FC Women (CFCW) and Strasbourg in France.
The group says a loss before tax for the year of 630.1m, on top of a 2024 amount of 430.3m, is driven by investment in the playing squads of Chelsea Men's, Chelsea Women's, and Strasbourg.
For the year, the group reported revenue of 536.5m (up from 523.1m), driven by commercial, broadcasting, and matchday income from Chelsea and Strasbourg.
The group reports net assets at the end of the year of 1.24bn (down from a 2024 figure of 1.39bn) and net current liabilities of 484.1m (down from a 2024 total of 522.1m).
As revealed on April 1, Chelsea mens losses for the year before taxation was 262.4m, compared to a profit of 128.4m for the previous year.
The group say this movement is primarily due to a profit on the sale of a subsidiary to a fellow group undertaking, worth 198.7m and recognised in the prior year, which is eliminated at a group level.
This was the sale of the womens team from Chelsea FC to BlueCo 22 Ltd and the accounts reveal their stadium at Kingsmeadow was also sold to the parent company.
Chelsea women recorded a pre-tax loss of 17.1m, up from 8.4m the previous year, while turnover increased by 9.8m, offset by an 18.6m increase in operating costs all while winning the Womens Super League.
Strasbourg recognised a pre-tax loss of 65.8m compared to just 8.4m the previous year, caused principally by continued significant investment in the playing squad, accounts say, while turnover also decreased from 57.7m in 2024 to 24.2m in 2025.
Robertson: Liverpool didn't offer me new deal
Andy Robertson has revealed Liverpool did not offer him a new contract.
The left-back announced on Thursday that he will end his nine-year spell at Anfield when his deal expires this summer.
"It means I dont need to lie to everyone (about my future) so its a weight off my shoulders, Robertson said.
"Its not like Ive knocked back a contract or anything, there was no contract on the table. It was a conversation we all had. It was a conversation of okay, this is what I want to do, I want to play and I believe Ive still got the ability to play. I think I have showed that this season."
Robertson has been linked with a move to Tottenham as a free agent.
"Last summer it was kind of close and I decided to stay. It was the same in January, Robertson added.
"I will be looking to sort my future out sooner rather than later. I dont want to be going to the World Cup with anything hanging over my head. But as of yet, theres nothing. Well see where the future lies for me and my family."

Former Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum is keen to make a return to the Premier League next season when his contract in the Saudi Pro League expires this summer.
The 35-year-old has no plans to retire and still feels he has a lot to offer, having scored 14 goals and provided six assists for Al Ettifaq this season.
As things stand, his priority is a return to playing in England, although no decision has yet been made about his future.
Wijnaldum played 237 times for Liverpool over five seasons, winning the Premier League and Champions League, before leaving to join PSG in 2021.
He has spent the last three seasons at Al Ettifaq.

'Terry set to buy Colchester Utd'
John Terry is set to take over League Two club Colchester United, reports The Sun.
The former Chelsea and England captain is said to have landed a 14m deal to buy the Essex-based club alongside a consortium.
Terry is expected to have significant influence over the footballing side of the club.
Colchester have been for sale since September after a deal fell through in June.
Robbie Cowling, the club's owner and chairman, said he was "seeking to pass the leadership to a new generation of management".
Colchester are 13th in League Two after beating promotion-hunting Swindon 3-0 on Saturday.

Howe: I dont pick players based on transfer fees
Eddie Howe has defended his decision not to start Nick Woltemade and Yoane Wissa during their 2-1 defeat at Crystal Palace.
Both Wissa and Woltemade watched on as Newcastle gave away a goal lead to lose their seventh game in 10 matches, with Jean-Philippe Mateta climbing off the bench and scoring two to win it for Palace.
Woltemade signed for Newcastle last summer for a club record fee of 69m but has failed to establish himself as Newcastle's main striker. Wissa joined from Brentford on deadline day for 55m.
Howe made six changes to the side that suffered a derby defeat to rivals Sunderland at St James' Park during their last outing.
Kieran Trippier, Dan Burn, Harvey Barnes, Anthony Elanga, Jacob Ramsey, as well as Woltemade were among the derby starters that were dropped.
Asked about the value of the players he had on the bench and whether that played a part in the result, Howe said:
"I don't pick the team based on transfer fees, I have to pick the team based on what I see. I thought Will Osula has trained well, I think he deserved to start today. I thought he played well.
"I thought he was, again, a real positive coming out of the game. I thought he took his goal well. He's got the physical attributes, the determination to do really well.
"He's improving, I think, week in, week out, so I was delighted with his performance."
